48 (2021) - Two candlesticks with a total of 48 candles
48 is a personal work based on illness in Thiis-Evensen`s family. The combinations of candlestick and candle can give associations to memorial work and contemplation. The number 48 describes a general condition where one is in the middle of life, with all that entails of joy and sorrow, closer to the end than the beginning. Thiis-Evensen lights the first candle on the opening. The audience lights the rest of the candles during the exhibition period.
